tis the season!

Christmas in MB is all party all the time.  Christmas parties, to Santa Sightings, to Firework parties (Manhattan Beach only does fireworks in December), to Gingerbread House parties to cookie decorating parties, i am frankly exhausted and we still have (gulp) a little over a week before xmas.

 Dominic is such a fun guy.  he almost has a full set of teeth- that kid arrived to this earth ready to go and keep up with Dez!

Dez loves to dress up.  one morning we woke to find Bombero (firefighter) Dez with the jacket, hat and boots and of course no pants. 

 The club had a gingerbread house party.  um, probably the most expensive party we have been to so far, but Dez had a blast.  the redhead standing behind Dez is Miss Katie (his preschool teacher) and the boy to Dez' left is one of Dez' best friends, William.  they have a blast together in soccer, ice skating, etc. 

i absolutely love the look on Dominic's face- i read it as "oh yeah baby!  i am going to eat this ginormous cookie the size of my head and no one will dare to stop me!"  This kid eats more than Dez and me combined.  We are in trouble!  Also, those are not suspenders (Paul wanted me to let you know), but rather the safety straps to my friend's fancy, organic, bespoke, grown locally, made locally and "whatever other term is in the now" highchair.

Santa comes up our street every year - so much fun.  yes, Dez does have a rifle in his hands- you can never be too sure with santa . . .

The nice thing for Dez when i take the 2 boys to a party by myself is that he can quietly get into stuff without me noticing too soon.  He was about half way into a can of icing before i noticed.  he had a blast decorating his own cookie.

Not sure why all these pictures turned out sideways am sure dez could give me pointers. 

dez spent the week at kids camp playing tennis and swimming.  oh, to be a kid again . . .  dez still loves superheroes and of course chose to be have a batman facepaint -

dez found my swim stuff and actually wore my swimcap and goggles to sleep.

first time at Chuck E. Cheese- will definitely not be our last.  dez was in hog heaven. 

just realized i don't take that many pictures of Dominic- probably because i am usually holding him other than when he is eating (which is most of the time).  he is such a fun & awesome little man who really loves to laugh and growl.  had his 1 year doctor's visit and he weighs 27lbs.  um- that is a size of an average 2 year old!  his height is not even on the chart and he weighs more than 90% of kids his age. 

dez hair

Dez has a lot of hair- i mean a lot!  fun to see his hair grow out and it frankly looks like a wig because he has so much.  please enjoy the before and after pics of Dez at Snip Its (a kid hair salon). and yes, he loves to dress up - yesterday, he was spiderman.

Dominic learned how to blow kisses and finds it hilarious.  he is such a happy little guy- although he likes to bite Dez when Dominic doesn't get what he wants . . .

skating

Dez is taking ice skating lessons.  he found my ski goggles and with his bike helmet, he was off.  Would love to see him play hockey- but may regret that in the future . . .

1st bday

Happy 1st birthday to my beautiful & spunky Dominic! Thanks Abuelita & Tita for surprising us with balloons, candle, decoration and cupcakes to celebrate Dominic's bday!

halloween

Hope all had a safe and fun Halloween!  Before we get to those pictures, i wanted to share some pics of the boys.  Dez is such a big boy and loves soccer!  check out his fun little soccer cleats.  

Paul and I were woken up this morning at 5 a.m. to Dez crying "there is popo everywhere."  Paul and I have never jumped out of bed faster than after hearing that there was poop everywhere.  Take that alarm clock!  Dez apparently found the cookie and halloween candy stash as that was near the scene of the crime . . . Although potty trained, Dez must have been so distracted by the delicious treats -  

 Check out the Dominator!  he is such a big boy wearing 2t clothes!!!  he will be 1 years old tomorrow and i feel blessed that he is a healthy and happy boy, but am sad that the year has passed so quickly.  he has so much personality and is such a perfect addition to our family. 

 not sure what happened, but ever since dominic was born, we don't seem to remember to take many pictures.  these pictures were taken by friends we ran into while trick or treating.  my mother and aunt were in town and dressed in amazing costumes and am hoping i can post some pics of them in my next post.  also, Nick, Steph, Ali, Kat and Jack had awesome Star Wars costumes (http://pulhamfam.blogspot.com/).  i wish we could have taken a family foto with them.

This year's theme was super family - Dez Batman, Dominic Robin and Paul and I were Superman and Superwoman.  It was around 75 degrees and we first went to the walk streets of MB to visit friends.  the walk streets are great since there are no cars and the kids can run wild.

We ended the night at a friend's house up the street (Paul and Sharmi and their boy Luke).  We decided to call it a nite when Dez started aimlessly roaming Walnut St. absorbed in the absurdity that is Halloween. 

each 3 year old for himself!

love this video of five 3 year old boys in costumes, each with a sword (dez with 2 swords of course), attacking a ball.  somehow all the parents thought this was a good combo.  enjoy the rollover that dez skillfully mastered-

went to numerous halloween parties over the weekend.  this year, we are the super family, superdad, supermom, batman (dez) and robin (dominic).  dominic loves balls and forks-

how does this work?

Dominic loves things that make noise- a lot of noise.   this video makes me laugh - pay attention to the "ugh" noise Paul makes when Dez runs into him in the background.

One of Dominic's first baths- yes, he was already 6 months old.  Poor second child!  Dez thought it was hilarious. trying to reinforce Spanish with Dez, so please ignore my voice in the background-

took dez to the kid dentist today with kat- i swear he thinks she's his sister.  they had a blast- yes, the dentist in Manhattan Beach is a fun experience- isn't everything in manhattan beach fun? 

dez chillin while getting his teeth cleaned.  he loves those spidey glasses on his head.  side note- did you know you are supposed to floss kids' teeth starting from age of 1?  really?  add that to my "things to feel guilty about not doing" list!!!!

i invited 2 neighbor boys (Sam & Braden) who are the same age as Dez over for a spiderman playdate.  we decorated pumpkins, ate cookies, played a couple of games.  Was a ton of fun and was more exhausting than running a marathon!

graduation

Today was Dez' graduation from 2 yr old preschool.  super cute- his first diploma. 

future cop?  manhattan beach has so many fun activities for kids.  they opened a truck yard and brought firetrucks, police vehicles, speedsters, tractors, buses, garbage trucks, etc.  dez was in heaven and it was hard to leave . . .

speedster?  not sure what this car is called, it has a parachute instead of breaks (sp). 

a little boys dream-

dominic is just huge.  these jammies are 18 month jammies and he is only 7 months.  C'MON!  he is growing too quickly!

Dominic's first music class.  he just loves the piano.

 had a fun sleep over.  Dez, Ali and Kat in their sleeping bags after a day full of fun using the slip n slide in our back yard.

 steph took this amazing picture of Dominic's gigantic foot compared to his cousins.  they are both 7 months - we can't believe it.

not sure what my parents used as incentive to use the potty, we use Target . . . heaven better have a Target!

This is the same outfit on both boys.  it is size 4t so how come it fits a 6.5 month old so well?

these cousins are so cute!  the problem is that dominic loves to roll on top of Jack and eat his shoes . . . jack's ok with that so far . . .

dez absolutely adores dominic.  Dominic laughs at Dez's jokes and thinks his older brother is the most.
