Museums and Mammoth

A friend of mine who is a teacher and a parent recently told me that he finds LA doesn't have any activities for children.  Not sure what he is doing, but we have been enjoying the many museums and activities LA has to offer. This is a picture of the boys chillin in the Mammoth condo we rent.

Went today to the Children's Science Museum in Pasadena where we saw a bees busy in their beehive, saw many tarantulas, played in a kid's size ant farm and drove a jeep.

Went to the Discovery Cube in the OC where they had dress clothes and Dez wore the astronaut outfit the entire visit.

Dominic in this hazy/angelic pic looking at the sun on his play mirror.

Our gigantor.  Such a love!

Dragged Paul to a kite festival- there must have been around 200 kites in all sizes ranging from a kite the size of a butterfly and a huge Benjamin Franklin dollar kite larger than Paul.

Dez apre ski = socks, diaper and a t-shirt.  Fortunately, the weather was around 50 degrees (you can see there is not much snow at the base).

Cuz and Skiing

This blog has great pics of the cousins and our trips (yes plural!) to Mammoth.

Dez loves Dominic so much - sometimes it is a bit too much - no concept of personal space yet!

The boys!
We love skiing in Mammoth - this year, the weather has been between 40-56 degrees- perfect for taking our munchkins!  We start out our day nordic skiing with the kids (see the burley and polka(sp) pics below) and then put kids down for a nap with a sitter and Paul and I head out for downhill skiing.  An exhausting vacation, but fun!

Dez' first candied apple.  Most of the candy part ended up outside his mouth, but it was worth the pic!!

Focus on the thighs that Paul calls "Chunky Thigh Soup"- if Campbells did have a soup, it would likely be made with Dominic's thighs!  Enough for everyone!  Dominic was 3 months in this picture and weighed 18lbs (average 1 year old weighs around 20 lbs).  Dominic is now wearing 12 month clothes- he is on the fast track!

Dez with his goggles holding Dominic.

Dez loves goggles (have i mentioned that before?  Dez slept in my ski boots- see pic below.  He likes to pretend he is a robot or a lion.  I didn't know that lion's wore boots, but probably a good idea!

Dez loves his cousins.  Paul bought Dez this cool jeep that is a hit with the kids!

We took Dez skiing- rented his own ski helmet, boots, skis and poles.  No one told us that to put on all the gear would take an hour with much screaming.  But, it was all worth it once Dez was having a blast on the slopes!!!

i mean C'MON!  Can he get any better looking???

Dez started out skiing with me until he saw other kids (much older than he) skiing by themselves.  He quickly told me to go away so he could ski alone.  So sad - he is such a big boy now!

Next blog i will post pics of Paul, Dez and I on the ski lift- we took him on a green that Dez rocked!
Another pic of Dez' preschool.  So cute that they wait on the carpet until a parent comes to pic them up.
Trying to potty train so bought him some Cars and Super Heroes undies to encourage him- love the funky pose with his right foot in front.

This was the best Valentine's Day ever- Paul made a delicious meal and i could spend my day with my 3 men!

Dominic just because.  I love these snow suits, unfortunately the below 6 month suit he only wore once and you can see how small it is on our 3 month old!

Paul and Dominic -

Love this outfit

This is how Dominic sleeps during the day.  Pretty funny to see his chunky arms barely fitting behind his head.  so sweet!

Dez- i know he looks like he is going fishing . . .

The magic carpet - Paul holding Dominic in the Baby Bjorn- the weather was around 56 (warmer than it currently is in Manhattan Beach)

Just cuz-

Dez tooling around on plastic skis- fun to play in, but nothing like the real thing!  Dominic is hiding in the blue polka(sp)- pretty hard to tug those things up the hill, but so nice that the kids sleep in those sleds.

Rocket launcher- thanks Sarah- huge hit!!

The twins- we are so lucky that Jack and Dominic are going to be hanging out and growing up together!

Much love-
